The Traditional Basic Online Class

When one takes an online course, one is relying on their own knowledge acquisition abilities.

When one registers for a college or university online course, there is a teacher assigned to that course, but students will not have direct or real-time contact with students.

However, the student will be able to contact the course instructor through emails.  If the student is having difficulty in the course and needs to seek clarification, the student will have to wait for the instructor to respond.

Students who can self-teach succeed the best in most online courses.  They can learn the required information from textbooks and other related materials for the course with little to no instruction delivered by the instructor assigned to the course.

However, even the gifted and natural self-teaching student can be challenged by a subject and may need instruction.  When such situations arise, do not wait, establish a relationship with a tutor on the first day of the start of the quarter or semester.
